We welcome students, 12 to 21 years of age to come and meet students from other schools, develop new friendships, and participate in physical activities, and arts & crafts in a safe, supervised environment.
History: Camp Inclusion was founded in 2009 by high school seniors AJ Rosenthal, Dallas Wiles, Evan Sanna, and Erin Becker for the Alternative Learning Students at Glenelg High School in Howard County, MD.
Glenelg High School Principal Karl Schindler provided administrative support and guidance while Special Education Teacher Carly Robinson and Shannon Speake offered curriculum and camp management experience.
Since 2009, Rosenthal and Wiles have continued to offer the camp and now in addition to the repeat campers from the first year they have students from across the county participating. Each year Camp Inclusion builds upon its success by incorporating valuable input from parents, camp counselors and interested community members.
Camp Inclusion includes students from the following schools:
High Schools – Atholton, Cedar Lane School, Centennial, Glenelg, Howard, Long Reach, Marriotts Ridge, River Hill and Kennedy Krieger, Wilde Lake.
Middle Schools – Dunloggin, Folly Quarter, Glenwood, Harper’s Choice, Lime Kiln, and Ellicott Mills.
